Once upon a time, the Shire-Reeve of Molewud Randburyg was summoned to a small village of no import to untangle a mystery. Her job was to understand how a wandering warrior named Horglyth had come to die in the village’s folk meadow.
Each person she talks to gives their own version of the story which leaves the Shire-Reeve more confused than when she arrived.
Inspired by Akutagawa’s “In A Grove,” Ta Fogmaeden relays each of those statements and lets the reader make up their own mind as to what really happened in the folk meadow and why each person told a different story.
